It's time for car of the week! This week we have the e39 M5. Possibly a contender for one of my all time favorite cars. Just about all of the M5 models are in the running actually but this iteration is by far the best. Though not hand built like the other M5's before it. This was the model where refinement turned to ravenous. 8 Throttle bodies, 8 cylinders and 400 Hp, in a roomy sedan. There isn't much more awesome! That said, it comes with the daunting M badge and we all know that M stands for both Maintenance and Money. Two things you must be able to provide in order to own one. That said, if budgeted right, this car could be a joy to own for a while. Either way it's always gorgeous and an incredible performer. Piles of money can be spent on more parts or you can keep it simple and stick with the stock upgrades. I say upgrades because this car starts as a standard 5 series. Then the M group gets their grubby paws on it to finish it off.
